At the Feeders and in the Trees - Week 8

We received snow last night here in Western Kentucky and the birds are in a feeding frenzy. I've been taking pics of them for a couple of hours.

The birds look so beautiful in the snow, especially the female cardinals.

The male cardinals looks so brilliant in the snow too.

Goldfinches are in the trees.

Thanks for stopping by for a look at the birds in the snow - Judy.

  1. I'm so glad you gave us that memory !!

  2. Absolutely gorgeous photos of our 'feathered friends' in the snow ~ thanks,

    Wishing you a Happy Weekend ~ ^_^

  3. Hello Judy, the Cardinals do look beautiful in the snow. Lovely collection of photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!

  4. So THAT:S where all my birds went. Seriously Judy, I haven't seen a goldfinch in months. I used to have millions of them, and ever since early winter they all but disappeared....and it is NOT because we EVER let the feeder go long being empty. I have been wondering about predators - I am just sick about it.

I know they will come back - golly I hope so or I need to change the name of our house, right! :-/

Your photos are AMAZING. What are you doing differently? Seriously that goldfinch in the snow I may have to borrow next winter for my header. I LOVE IT!

    Hugs. ♥♥♥

  5. These are beautiful images of the most beautiful birds...the cardinal. I love 'em

  6. I think female cardinals are every bit as lovely as their male counterparts -- in such a soft understated way with just that tinge of color. We used to see goldfinch all the tme when we lived in Oregon -- not here in Florida though. At least not in this part. Beautiful photos -- it is good of you to provide them food in that weathr!

  7. Just spending a few dollars on bird food can do so much good. You have helped those lovely cardinals stay alive during cold weather, made your winter garden a bright colourful place and also given yourself a lot of pleasure. Keep it up Judy.

  8. Le cardinal est vraiment un très bel oiseau magnifiquement mis en images ici ;-)

  11. I have seen a peace dove but no cardinals yet. You have some mighty fine photographs of cardinals in the snow. Well done!

  12. Wow! These are absolute gorgeous shots!! How wonderful that you got the chance to take them with the snow as a background.

  13. So many of us got snow from storm Stella....This was really wonderful photos....Michelle
